Just to let you know that I’m going on a blogging hiatus for the foreseeable future. I plan to resume blogging when I have both the time and proper skills to devote to my blog. Thanks :)

elf nail polish - Metal Madness
In the spirit of the metallic trends going about at the moment I’ve tried this elf nail polish in a grey/glitter/metal type of shade. I’m not normally a metallic kind of girl but, as this borders on glitter, I am making an exception.
I’ve never used elf products before but my housemates have and buy a lot from the website. I have to say this nail polish is pretty good. It needed two coats because it is not very thick, which I prefer to really thick nail polish anyway. Average drying time, much faster than rimmel but slower that model’s own. So far, it has lasted well, no chips or anything as of Friday.

Sparkly socks - Urban Outfitters
Sorry for being 100% MIA the last two weeks, I’ve been insanely busy and just not having a lot to blog about as well. Anyway, due to some awesome press discount I have now purchased these amazing socks! They’re essentially black socks with tinsel woven through and they are perfect for the time of year. They’re really festive and I think they’ll look great poking out of boots.
I spent seven hours (no joke) with my housemate today christmas shopping. It was the most fun I’ve had in weeks considering my work and all other sorts of nonsense! Despite spending that long shopping, I still have many presents left to buy! Still, it’s getting so christmassy now and I cannot wait for the holidays!
Keep christmassy and I promise to blog more often!

Hat - H&M
Apologies for the complete lack of blogging recently, I’ve been ill and had a million things going on! Anyway, I managed to find a hat very similar to the Nasty Gal one but for waaaay cheaper! I found this black wool hat in H&M for only £7.99! It was the very last one, rejected on the floor, but I’ve given it a home now. I love it, it goes with everything and works for summer and winter, a good all rounder.
Gotta run now!
Hello friends!
Just thought we would let you know that we are going to be playing with the mighty Futures on Tuesday December the 6th at The Railway Inn - Winchester.
I you haven’t heard of Futures you must have been living in a cave for the last 3 years or some shit. Anyway get familiar …

This playsuit and this hat.
I’ve fallen head over heels for nasty gal. I love all the stuff on there, except perhaps the Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoes (I know, blasphemy! They’re just not my cup of tea!). Either way, I have been eyeing up (what haven’t I been eyeing up?) this playsuit and more recently this hat. If only I had more monies. I can just imagine the playsuit with tights and a thick cardigan. I imagine that I’ll be oohing and aahhing over buying this for a while.
The hat I’m less tempted by just because it is really expensive for a hat, plus postage costs. I wish Nasty Gal would just come to the UK so I didn’t need to pay $15 in postage!
There are just too many things that I want to buy at the moment and this is an outlet for that. Apologies is this post was completely rubbish!

Shirt - Urban Outfitters, Skirt - American Apparel, Shoes - New Look, Rings - (L) Gift & (R) Miss Selfridge, Bracelets (L) Urban Outfitters & (R) Gifts, Nails - Barry M Nail Paint ‘Raspberry’
So this is what I wore yesterday just around and about. We went to a vintage fair on campus but sadly there was nothing that appealed to me. There was what I thought to be a skirt but it turned out to be shorts. The we got caught in a massive down pour of rain which wasn’t fun! After that thought, we made some scones and they were yummy!
I’ve had this skirt for years now and this was the first time in ages that I’ve worn it. It was becoming a bit neglected so I thought I’d try it which this shirt and I didn’t expect it to go as well as it did. I also really need to get some more pumps because at the moment I’m wearing these leopard print ones and they are so grotty and haggard now! The shirt is another amazing sale steal from summer! Originally it was £55 but I bought it for £27, and it’s 100% silk which makes it feel amazing.
I’m really hoping that the winter sales will be as fruitful as the summer sales. I’m trying to avoid Topshop at the moment. I have far too much from there but it’s hard because right now there is so much in there that I’d love to buy! I’ve got to say, I’m quite proud that nothing from this outfit is from Topshop! There have been many times that I’ve walked out of the house wearing Topshop head to toe, I really should stop that! On the bright side, my housemate is going to take me vintage shopping soon so hopefully I’ll be able to get some slightly less mass produced clothing!

L - tumblr, R - whatoliviadid
Typically, on the first day in a few that the light may be good enough in my room to take some pics I’m out all day! Even more frustrating is that I’ll get home after dark so I won’t be able to do them later either.
Instead, I noticed one of my favourite looks is appearing on the internet/tumblr/lookbook fairly often now. Obviously (from the picture) it’s the jumper and skirt combo, either with a cropped jumper or just tucking the jumper into the skirt. I do this sort of thing quite a lot with my midi skirt, it’s quite handy for making it warmer.
I just think that this is a really good alternative to a cardigan which I personally think doesn’t always work with my skirts (particularly midi skirts), and this looks just as good, if not better.
Quick post today, fingers crossed the weather will remain sunny and I can do some shots tomorrow!

I’ve come across this australian company called Four-Tea Clothing and I love their shorts. The pink pair are definitely my favourites, if I find another pair of jeans to cut up, trying something similar will be my first task! They have a good collection of custom shorts, as well as other items of clothing. They also have some really lovely rings, I particularly love the five and two aster ring.
I really want to be able to do this stuff myself but it takes a while to find the right jeans to cut into shorts. I got lucky with some Levi’s a while ago but I don’t want to try any customising with them in case they get ruined. So far I haven’t been able to find any others. I’m also trying to track down some black cord shorts or trousers to cut into shorts but so far no luck!
I’ve been finding so many more blogs recently that are really amazing. I love how there is such a huge community of style/fashion blogs, although it is a little intimidating!
For now, the hunt for shorts continues…

‘Minted’ - Topshop £5
Thanks to a lovely someone in my life, I’m not the owner of this new nail polish! So in one of my previous post I was eyeing up many Topshop nail polishes and this ‘Minted’ was one of them.
In real life the colour is much more green and not as blue as it comes up in the picture. I have to say, it’s quite runny which can make it difficult to apply but not so much that it warrants not bothering! I’ve put two coats on but really one coat was enough, which is great because it saves drying time. It’s got a good solid colour and it’s really bright without too much effort. Drying time is longer than average I’d say but then again, I wasn’t paying full attention!
I still think that, although this is a really good nail polish so far (don’t know about chipping yet!), it is still pretty pricey at £5, considering Barry M is cheaper and probably the same quality. I think I’ll probably save Topshop nail polish for vouchers or presents!

Top - Topshop, Skirt - River Island, Belt - Charity Shop, Boots - Topshop, Rings - Gift & Miss Selfridge, Nails - Models Own ‘Utopia’
I finally managed to find some winter boots after looking for a long time! I’ve got another pair of flat brown boots from Topshop and another winter without some back up would have been the end of them. I ended up exchanging the suede Chelsea boots for these because these were way nicer. This skirt has been brilliant I so glad I got it in the end, it goes with everything! As much as I was unsure about midi skirts, I think they’ve taken off well and they’re actually really practical.
Starting watching Mad Men today, love it so far. All the women look so glamourous, I wish I had a reason to get dressed up more often, uni offers many opportunities for the trackie and leggings but little for skirts and heels. Makes me want to have some kind of Mad Men fancy dress night! It is crazy to think how sexist people were back then. Still, Joan is amazing!
Now that uni has calmed down a little, I’m hoping I can get more of these style of posts more often. Hopefully I’ll be able to get this blog off the ground a little because it is struggling at the moment!
Eyes of Steel, Moonshine, Nice’n’Neutral Minted, Waterlily, AWOL Daredevil, Causing A Stir, Parmer Violet Oh only if I had the money to buy all these colours! I noticed today the Topshop range of nail colour whilst pondering the sale. There are some amazing colours but it doesn’t come cheap! Anyone that has followed this blog or my tumblr or who knows me well will know that I love nail varnish and normally fell weird not wearing it. I’ve got a fairly decent collection, although much of it is old and therefore no longer used. I really want to get my hand on some nail varnish pens so I can start doing more exciting things than just block colour. Sorry for the short post, internet is rubbbiiiisssshhhh :(

I thought I’d share a couple looks from lookbook that I particularly liked. It took a while to find them, normally I love every other look and wish I had all their clothes, but this time I struggled to find that many that stood out. Anyway, these I think are some lovely outfits. 1. To me this looks really thrown together which is great. It makes her style seem so much more genuine and it really suits here and it is exactly something that I would wear. I love the colour of the skirt. I’ve gone a bit mad for those berry shades that are around for winter! 2. I’m not entirely sure about the stole fashion, but here it looks quite cool. I don’t think I’d wear a stole myself but she pulls it off well. The dress too is lovely and easy, which, because I’m lazy, I love with clothing. Plus the red lipstick and hat make it all a little more quirky. 3. Again, the colour draws me in. It’s also lovely and simple but looks brilliant. 4. This one is a bid odd, I can’t make my mind up about the dress but the colour is so nice! It is such an interesting dress and I don’t think I ever seen anything like that before. It’s great that she hasn’t piled anything else on with the dress because I think it doesn’t need anything else, it looks fantastic on its own. This is a bit of a short post, I’m struggling for ideas at the moment and life has become so horribly busy that I have to find time to blog as well!

My fingers look so weird!
I tried something a little different with my nails this time. I combined my Rimmel ‘Black Cherries’ and Models Own ‘Juicy Jules’. There are loads of crazy designs going around for nails at the moment, this is much tamer then most. This is still quite simple and not too daring but it just gussys things up a little bit. The only problem is I can’t wear my gold ring because the silver and gold clashes! No matter, there are greater problems in the world than my clashing nails. There are way more designs that I want to try, and I’m thinking of buying either some nail jewels (which I know sounds tacky but I promise it wouldn’t be as bad as it sounds!), or nail pens to try and to some aztec-style designs. What are you doing with your nails?
